A buzzer for your Jeopardy-style night

Build the board however you like. Game Show Buzzer handles the part every homemade version gets wrong: who rang in first.

Run it like the show

Read the clue, then open the round. Buzzers stay dark until you do, so nobody gets credit for jumping early. The first press wins the chance to answer.

Mark the answer wrong and the question passes to the next player in the buzz order, just like the second contestant getting a shot. Set custom points per clue, or subtract points for a wrong answer to keep people honest.

Use any board you want

Draw the categories on a whiteboard, put a slideshow on the TV, or use a free Jeopardy template maker. Game Show Buzzer is the buzzer and the scoreboard; the questions are yours.

Questions

Can players buzz before the clue is finished?

Only if you open the round early. The host opens each round, and buzzers stay locked until then.

Can I take points away for a wrong answer?

Yes. Set custom points for right and wrong answers, including negative points.

How many contestants can play?

Up to 100 in one room. For a classic three-contestant feel, split the room into teams.
